Understand the paper before you prepare the paper.
A candidate-facing intelligence dashboard built from the 2023 and 2025 PET papers: syllabus → pattern → recurring concepts → question formats → UP layer → likely transformations → preparation plan.
RAAHUPSC · PET PYQ LAB · PRE-LAUNCHThe syllabus map
Use the syllabus as the outer boundary. Then use PYQs to decide what deserves depth inside each boundary.
10 sections × 5 marks = 50, plus Current Affairs 10 + General Awareness 10 + 2 Hindi passages 10 + 2 graphs 10 + 2 tables 10 = 50.
The paper is mixed, not chapter-wise
That changes how you practise.
Structural facts
- 100 questions / 100 marks
- 120 minutes
- −0.25 for an incorrect answer
- Multiple domains are interleaved.
- Graph and table interpretation function as separate skill buckets.
- Passages test reading/inference rather than only factual recall.
Do not train only by chapter. Train in two modes:
- Deep mode: master a micro-topic.
- Mixed mode: switch from polity → DI → history → science → language without losing time.
2023 → 2025: what persisted?
This is a concept-family trend map, not a claim that every concept has identical frequency.
Where to spend your hours
Priority is based on recurrence + structural importance + ease of converting the concept into variants.
History + National Movement
Ancient/medieval facts, Buddhism/Jainism, literature, organisations, movement chronology.
Depth: high · variant potential: highPolity
Articles, amendments, Parliament, constitutional bodies, commissions and procedures.
Depth: high · relationship questionsEconomy
Plans, reforms, institutions, schemes and basic economic terminology.
Depth: high · memory + logicGeography
Rivers, physical features, climate/environment, countries, locations and map associations.
Map-based memoryScience
Everyday physics/chemistry/biology + missions and science current affairs.
Direct scoring potentialCurrent Affairs
Events linked to organisations, people, places, schemes and static facts.
Prepare by relationship, not headlineUP Layer
UP projects, culture, heritage, institutions, budget, wildlife and current events.
Separate revision notebookDI + Arithmetic
Percentage, ratio, average, comparison and graph/table extraction.
Skill, not memorisationReasoning + Language
Breadth-first practice: series, coding, figures, Hindi/English grammar and vocabulary.
High scoring when automatedSearch the PET DNA
Filter by domain, priority and recurrence. These are preparation units—not merely chapter names.

What exactly are they testing?
Instead of memorising one answer, learn the transformation family around it.
Harappan civilisation → one fact becomes six possible questions
Observed: civilisation/age/material framing.
Can transform into: site → river; site → state; artefact → material; feature → civilisation; discovery → archaeologist; site → unique feature.
Five-Year Plans → relationship web
Observed: plan + objective/period.
Can transform into: plan → period; plan → model; planner → concept; plan → priority sector; plan → achievement.
Polity Article → provision → exception
Observed: Article-based direct facts and parliamentary terminology.
Can transform into: Article → provision; provision → Article; amendment → change; institution → power; procedure → House.
Current event → static background
Observed examples: Future Minerals Forum → Riyadh; ICAO → headquarters; Startup India → DPIIT; Gaganyaan → LVM3; Cartagena Protocol → LMOs.
Can transform into: event → organiser; organisation → HQ; scheme → ministry; mission → agency/vehicle; agreement → subject.
UP event → place → institution → significance
Observed: Kashi Tamil Sangamam, Lucknow UCCN nomination, UPDIC nodes, State Transformation Commission, wildlife connectivity and UP heritage.
Can transform into: event → venue; project → district/node; institution → city; site → nickname; scheme → department; budget → flagship initiative.
DI → same data, different arithmetic
Observed: table/bar/line/pie data with comparison, percentage, ratio and average.
Can transform into: max/min; difference; percentage change; ratio; average; total; share; missing value; combined comparison.
Prepare CA as a relationship graph
2025 questions demonstrate that a current event is often only the entry point.
The 8-box CA note
2025 evidence examples
- Future Minerals Forum → Riyadh.
- Gaganyaan → LVM3.
- Startup India recognition → DPIIT.
- MuleHunter.AI → RBI.
- Cartagena Protocol → living modified organisms.
- WTO → Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
- Padma Vibhushan → Srinivas Varadhan.
- KonKan-25 → INS Vikrant + HMS Prince of Wales.
UP is not an afterthought
The 2025 material shows a rich state-specific layer mixing current affairs with static culture, history, geography and institutions.
UPDIC
Six nodes: Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh, Chitrakoot.
State Transformation Commission
Know the former UP Planning Commission → new institutional identity.
Lucknow + UNESCO
City of Gastronomy nomination association.
Kashi Tamil Sangamam
Edition, venue, cultural purpose and related facts.
UP heritage
Mathura museum, Kanishka, airmail history, Chitrakoot sites.
UP literature
Dharmveer Bharti, Tulsidas, Bhartendu and literary associations.
UP institutions
MNNIT, BHU/Bharat Kala Bhawan and other institution-location pairs.
UP wildlife
Katarniaghat, Dudhwa and state wildlife-linked developments.
Arithmetic + DI = one preparation system
DI should not be isolated from arithmetic.
Arithmetic core
- Percentage
- Ratio & proportion
- Average
- Profit/loss & discount
- Time & work
- Time, speed & distance
- Basic algebra / number operations
DI families
- Table
- Bar graph
- Line graph
- Pie chart
- Mixed data
- Comparison sets
- Missing/derived value
- Read unit.
- Read legend/title.
- Underline requested quantity.
- Extract only needed values.
- Calculate.
- Sanity-check.
Breadth-first reasoning
Build automatic recognition for common families before chasing advanced puzzles.
Verbal
Series · coding-decoding · analogy · classification · ranking · family relations · calendar · ordering
Arrangement
Seating · age/order · grouping · matrix · logical conditions
Non-verbal
Figure series · figure analogy · water image · dice · pattern completion · related figures
Separate the scoring skills
Do not revise “Hindi” or “English” as one giant subject.
Hindi
शब्दार्थ · पर्यायवाची · विलोम · तत्सम/तद्भव · शब्द-भेद · वाक्य प्रयोग · मुहावरे · व्याकरण · अपठित गद्यांश
English
Vocabulary · synonym/antonym · spelling · grammar · prepositions · narration · question tags · sentence completion
Unseen passage
Main idea · factual extraction · inference · contextual vocabulary · statement matching.
What can they ask next?
Not a leaked-paper prediction. This is a disciplined transformation of observed question families.
| Family | Observed angle | Next possible angles | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harappan | Age/material/civilisation | site, river, state, artefact, discovery, feature | A++ |
| Five-Year Plans | Plan + objective/period | planner, model, achievement, sector, sequence | A++ |
| Polity | Article/procedure | reverse mapping, amendment, institution, exception | A++ |
| CA | Event → static fact | HQ, organiser, ministry, person, purpose, year | A++ |
| UP | Project/place/event | district, node, institution, budget, nickname, department | A++ |
| Science | Basic direct fact | unit, instrument, process, application, mission | A+ |
| DI | Compare/calculate | percentage change, ratio, average, missing value, trend | A++ |
Turn the analysis into marks
Use a three-loop system.
Concept → relationship map
Example: Article → provision → institution → exception. Do not memorise isolated numbers.
One concept → five variants
For every high-priority concept, generate five possible question angles.
Error → micro-topic
Never record only “Polity wrong”. Record “Article → emergency effect → confusion”.
Finish A++ static concepts + arithmetic basics.
Tag every 2023/2025 question by micro-topic and question engine.
Timed mixed sets + DI + passages.
Only high-yield relationships, error log and current-affairs 8-box notes.

How to interpret the evidence
2023 exam date evidence: the uploaded previous-paper set records PET 2023 on 28/10/2023 and 29/10/2023. 2025 exam date evidence: it records PET 2025 on 06/09/2025 and 07/09/2025.
2025 examples: the uploaded paper material includes questions on Gaganyaan/LVM3, Startup India/DPIIT, MuleHunter.AI/RBI, Cartagena Protocol, WTO, Padma awards, Kashi Tamil Sangamam, UPDIC, State Transformation Commission, UP heritage and wildlife, among many others.
Syllabus integrity note: History and Indian National Movement are separate 5-mark sections; Graph Interpretation and Table Interpretation are also separate 10-mark sections. The dashboard therefore uses all 15 syllabus sections and totals exactly 100 marks.
Important limitation: this dashboard is the candidate-facing intelligence layer. It should be paired with the full question-level 2023 + 2025 database for exact per-question frequencies. “Can ask” is an inference from the observed pattern.
